Guests had the opportunity to borrow from over $30 million worth of jewelry for the Primetime Emmy Awards and related parties. Michael O'Connor, leading style expert and television personality, curated a selection of dazzling and unique pieces from world-renowned brands such as A. Jaffe, Abellan New York, Bellarri, Gabriel & Co., Gumuchian, Jane Berg Jewelry, Jewelry By Gail, Mark Lash, Mastoloni, Perrelet, Seah Watches & Jewelry, Takat, The American Gem Trade Association, The Diamonds With A Story Collection, and Yael Sonia, among others. Here's the scoop on what celebrities and their stylists were eyeing for the Primetime Emmy Awards, and surrounding red carpet parties. Lorna Scott was a big fan of the 38.61-carat amethyst, ruby, blue sapphire, and pearl earrings from Abellan New York as well as a "signature" cuff by Cassandra Erin Studio. Tenille Houston gravitated towards the 9.11-carat Madeira citrine and diamond ring from Frankie Caballero for the American Gem Trade Association, priced at $9,000.
Source:

However, not all celebrities, despite their fame in Hollywood, have perfected the art of walking the red carpet. Over the years, many have fallen prey of these exaggerated and what-were-you-thinking moments. Some of the worst-dressed celebrities learned from their mistakes such as Sarah Jessica Parker and is now known as a fashion icon. Talk about from "not to hot." The Funny or Die website claims 19 million unique users and more than 60 million video views each month, and its demographic strength overlaps perfectly with the young people who must sign up for the healthcare law in order for it to succeed. ‘insidious: Chapter 2,’ Movie Review

"It was impossible to ignore the goings-on around us," the filmmaker said through an interpreter. "I didn't want to wait for the revolution to end to talk about it." He calls the movie "his own personal form of protest" for democracy and freedom of expression, adding that at 68, he is too old to march and Kim Kardashian workout dvd wave placards in the streets. Malas encouraged his actors to improvise dialogue throughout the film and to speak in their own words about what was happening in Syria. "I had them tell their own stories," he said, adding that it is "difficult to call the film fiction." At the same time, he decries labels such as "docudrama," saying the film does not fictionalize actual events, but instead offers commentaries on the way war disrupts daily life. Filming under a shroud of secrecy and danger to his crew in Damascus was "very difficult and complicated," he said.
Source:

Movie stars happily flocking to TV

In case you hadn't heard, the film industry is having a tough time producing anything other than franchise fodder and Oscar bait, while high-production scripted television is busting out all over. Actors will tell you they follow the stories, and it's past arguing that some of the best stories are being told on television. But actors and writers and directors, like most of population, also follow the love. And right now, audiences are in love with television. Truly, madly, deeply, and in ways difficult to sustain in film or the theater.
Source:,0,1067273.story

The Parody Movie Trailer For 'Airboarders' Is The Best Video You Will Watch All Day

Although we ultimately decided not to continue with the series, we wanted to make the Chloe King movie script available to her amazing fans to provide them the closure theyve been clamoring for, said Kate Juergens, executive vp original programming and development and chief creative officer at ABC Family. The decision to release the script comes more than two years after Nine Lives ended its run on the small screen, where it aired on ABC Family from June to August 2011. It was officially canceled in September 2011.
Source:

He gives a relatively subtle performance here as Jack Halcombe, a smart and committed policeman who sets out to catch heinous killer Robert Hansen (John Cusack). Vanessa Hudgens stars as Cindy Paulson, a stripper who manages to escape Hansen's clutches. Jack is the only one who believes her story, and her testimony becomes the cornerstone of his otherwise flimsy case against the psycho. There's some really nice chemistry between Cage and Hudgens. She looks so naturally sweet and vulnerable that she would elicit protective feelings from pretty much any dude. Cage picks up on this vibe of hers and really milks it. The concern in his eyes is touching. The ruggedly beautiful Alaskan setting is ideal for a crime drama of this sort, lending an air of gloom and menace that you wouldn't get in more hospitable climes.
Source:

Movie review: The Frozen Ground (NC16)

Billed as an "official movie trailer" and released to Youtube by Bath Boys Comedy group , a nearly 4 minute video for "Airboarders" may be the most hilarious video you watch all day. The video is pitch-perfect parody of a movie trailer, starting with a group of friends driving, when one in the backseat discovers a business card and shows off tricks he can pull with it outside the car window. "I call it airboarding," he says, before the driver stops to say the move was incredible. The video continues to build, showing the epic rise of the group of friends in the "sport" before their eventual falling out. It ends with one insulting another, asking, "are you a man or are you just a bunch of Kim Kardashian fansite business cards looking like a man?" It's worth watching the entire thing (some language):
Source:

Annie Amatosero: Yes, Actresses Harass Movie Directors

Thats the most challenging role for me so far. Immersing yourself in a tough character requires a lot of Kim Kardashian & Ray J work. Have you ever been harassed sexually in Nollywood? Sexual harassment is not a new thing to any grown girl. Its not just in the movie industry but its also in the banking industry, the private sector generally and even in our universities. 7. Critics across the board give this movie lousy reviews and words to describe this attempt of making a movie about Diana range from atrocious to embarrassing cheap soap opera. No one was kind and from what people are saying about the movie, finding a redeeming factor within this new film is going to be a tough job. Naomi Watts, a British-born Australian actress, plays the part of a lonely jilted princess. Her love interest is played by English actor Naveen Andrews, who plays heart surgeon Hasnat Khan. The surgeon gives Diana what she is missing and what she is craving, love. The movie made its debut in the U.K. on Thursday and even the red carpet was sparsely attended.
Read more:

Mideast Expert: We've Seen This Movie Before

The only downside is the excessive rain that obscures what is perhaps the best part of the movie the no-holds-barred fighting. In order to justify the $190 million budget of the movie, and to appeal to a wider, non-anime or robot-loving audience, del Toro has tried to foray into the psyche of the protagonists to give them more flesh and blood. This is, however, where the movie flounders. It tends to drag at times, especially when the director tries to establish the relationship between Raliegh and Mako. The typical boy-meets-girl story seems forced and unnecessary and whats worse, remains inconclusive as to whether they are merely friends or something more. The attempt to inject mild humour into the movie, in the form of comic relief, also falls flat. Although well-intended, the dialogue and scenes come off as forced and trite.
Read more:

Movie Critic Matt Atchity: Violence At The Movies This Weekend

"This is a violent brutal movie...make no mistake this an R rated movie, this is not something to take the kids to." Matt says "Riddick" goes back to the roots of the first installment, "Pitch Black", but is much darker. Critics are split on it. "The ones that like it say it's a solid B movie, you should look at it that way...the ones that don't like it say that it really lacks in dialogue and character development and anything you would expect out of a real movie...I personally did not care for this movie I found that it had kind of a misogynistic streak to it that rubbed me the wrong way." The other notable release is "Salinger", a documentary about the reclusive author of "The Catcher in the Rye". Matt says critics aren't liking this because it's the complete opposite of who J.D. Salinger was. "A lot of critics say this movie kinda builds up a cult of personality which would be the last thing Salinger would have get a lot of people like Philip Seymour Hofffman and Edward Norton and John Cusack talking about the influence that he had on their lives and that's what really kinda rubs critics the wrong way...if you read "The Catcher in the Rye" it would be something that Holden Caufield would have said was very phony." Matt thinks hardcore fans of the author will find something to like if they go see it... "The critics that do like it say there's just enough gems in here that do make it worth watching so if you are somebody that wants to learn more you might be willing to see this." Matt also talks up a couple of smaller new Kim Kardashian news releases on DVD you probably missed during this summer of blockbuster event movies...he Kim Kardashian pregnant says they're far better than the new offerings at your local theaters.
Read more:

This is exactly what will happen if the Syrian regime falls. The argument that the United States must intervene in Syria to deter other countries from using chemical weapons or other weapons of mass destruction is a canard. Chemical weapons have been used since World War II on a number of occasions. Saddam Hussein used chemical weapons in the 1980s against Iranian forces multiple times during their eight-year war and then he again used them to put down a Kurdish uprising in Halabja. The United States and many of the same outwardly raged players demanding military action now in Syria stood ideally by.
Read more:

Tv Makers Track What Viewers Watch Seeking Access To Ads

Because so-called dynamic advertising can be better targeted to the individual, some advertisers are willing to pay a premium of as much as 25 percent above traditional television advertising , according to Ooyala, a Mountain View , California-based company that analyzes video data. While the technology could threaten traditional ads, companies that pursue a multiple-device approach and seek to coexist with existing ad systems have the best chance of success, Gracenotes White said. When you have content and context-aware devices, the reality is you can do a lot more to hyper-target consumers and give them information they care about, White said.
