Seriously, What's With All Of The Pixie Cuts In Hollywood?

"I'm so happy," Finke said in a brief interview. ON LOCATION: Where the cameras roll Finke said she plans to start a new website that will compete with Deadline and Variety in chronicling the ins and outs of Hollywood. However, things took a turn this week after the two met with a mediator in an effort to reach an accord. While Finke said the talks didn't appear to go far, nonetheless Penske decided to release her from her contract, which ran through 2016. On the set: movies and TV Finke acknowledged that by exiting Deadline Hollywood before her contract expired, she was leaving "money on the table." The relationship between Penske and Finke unraveled soon after he purchased renowned trade outlet Variety last fall. Finke had wanted a prominent role running Variety, and claimed that Penske had said that would happen. However, no such role was forthcoming and Penske instead installed a trio of editors to manage Variety.
Source:,0,602685.story

Groupies rejoice!Posted 4 days ago Handicapping Hollywood Park Photo: Eclipse Sportswire The Southern California horse racing circuit is shifting to Hollywood Park for the final time. The recently concluded Santa Anita meet, culminating with the Breeders' Cup , was one that saw the main track races dominated by front runners and pace pressers for most of the meet. With that trend fresh in the minds of most horseplayers there may be a tendency to overbet those horses when they return to the races at Hollywood Park. In some cases this may not be a bad decision but in others it will mean the horses with the preferred off the pace running style will go off at overlaid odds. With that in mind let's take a look at the results of the 2012 fall meet at Hollywood Park to determine which running styles are preferred at each distance on the main track and turf course. The reason I chose the 2012 fall meet instead of the 2013 spring/summer meet is the weather will be more similar to the upcoming 2013 fall meet and the main track and turf course should play more similar to that meet than the one run during the hotter months of the year. For purposes of the discussion below please note that each winner was labeled as one of three running styles.
Source:

PHOTOS: Hollywood Reporter's Next Gen 20th Anniversary Gala Celebrates the Class of 2013 Its very surreal to be here, [source] said AMCs Ben Davis, a 2013 Next Gen honoree for his work as the cable networks VP of scripted programming. If you see me leaving with bags of magazines later, theyre for my parents back home in New Jersey. They are very proud. Davis pinch-me moment reminded illustrious Next Gen alumni of years past many of whom were in attendance, including Fox Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly, CAAs managing partner and managing director Kevin Huvane, film producer Michael De Luca(Fifty Shades of Grey) and Universal Televisions executive vp Bela Bajaria of their own stint as Next Gen-ers. It really was a public validation that your work was being noticed, said Bajaria as Weezers frontman Rivers Cuomo took the stage at 9:15 p.m. to perform a set of the bands most popular tunes. It definitely feels like a very exclusive club! Next Gen alumni like Bajaria werent the only industry elite on hand for the celebration.
Source:

He's working to relocate the memorial. Landaluce and Great Communicator are also buried at Hollywood Park. It wasn't just the thoroughbreds that brought attention to the track. Or at least it appears so from a photo she posted to her Facebook page . Once the initial shock wore off, we were left to wonder why all of Hollywood seems to be cutting long locks into drastically different (albeit sometimes chic) pixie cuts. In the past week alone, we've seen Jennifer Hudson , Pamela Anderson and Kristin Chenoweth take the short leap. Not to mention Beyonce, who went for a pixie back in August. (And an honorable mention goes to Jennifer Aniston, who cut her signature mane into a bob on Thursday ). Sure, it's a quick way to make a dramatic change to your appearance, but has the pixie trend gone too far?
Source:
